About the Studio
A few questions about our philosophy, approach, and what makes Butterfly’s Rest Floral Design Studio unique.
-
Butterfly’s Rest Floral Design Studio is a Seattle-based, studio-led practice focused on intentional, sculptural floral design. We highlight seasonality and the natural character of the flowers. Each arrangement is created as a complete visual experience — not assembled from a fixed recipe.
Learn more about our philosophy on About Butterfly’s Rest Floral Design Studio page.
-
Studio-led means design decisions are guided by professional expertise rather than replication or over-customization. Client preferences are welcomed, but final composition reflects trained judgment and aesthetic integrity.

No. We design without traditional floral foam and prioritize environmentally conscious mechanics whenever possible.

Seasonality allows us to work with flowers at their natural peak. This results in better quality, longer-lasting arrangements, and more expressive designs.
Everyday Flowers
Everything you need to know about our seasonal arrangements, designer’s choice approach, and what to expect when ordering flowers.

We select flowers on your behalf based on what is freshest and most beautiful that week. This allows us to create arrangements that feel natural, balanced, and aligned with the season.
-
Preferences are always welcomed and thoughtfully considered. However, specific blooms cannot be guaranteed due to seasonality and availability.

Our process is intentionally guided. Rather than asking couples to make dozens of small decisions, we focus on understanding the overall mood, priorities, and setting of the celebration. From there, we translate those insights into a cohesive floral design plan.
This approach keeps the process calm, collaborative, and aligned with the overall experience you want to create.
-
Venue architecture, lighting, table size, ceiling height, and guest count all influence how florals should be designed. We consider these elements carefully when determining scale, placement, and composition so the flowers feel integrated with the space rather than simply placed within it.
