OUR BEGINNINGButterfly’s Rest was born in a season of transition
Before flowers became my profession, they quietly reshaped my life...
There was a time when my life was defined by constant pressure and productivity — an atmosphere that left little room to breathe. Personal challenges made it clear that something needed to change. I often think of that season as a cocoon: I could not remain where I was, even though I could not yet see what would come next.
Flowers became a creative practice and a way to slow down. Working with them taught me to observe more closely, welcome imperfection, and rediscover beauty without needing to control it.
Leaving corporate life was not simply a career change. It was a decision to build a life around presence, creativity, and care. Butterfly’s Rest grew from that choice—and from the hope that flowers could offer others some of the calm and connection they had offered me.
Today, the studio remains rooted in that original transformation:
creating floral work that invites pause, honors individuality, and brings beauty into the moments people share.

The butterfly in our mark represents transformation. The flower represents rest. The body of the butterfly forms a semicolon — a quiet reminder that there is always space for what comes next.
We design with that pause in mind.
WHERE ARTISTRY MEETS INTENTIONGuided by character, movement, and season
Every flower is inherently beautiful in its own way. Our role is not to force each stem into uniformity, but to notice what makes it distinct and compose those differences into something harmonious.
Our work is flower-forward, refined, and softly editorial. We balance structure with natural movement, use negative space with purpose, and select flowers for the character they bring rather than adding material simply for volume.

OUR VALUES & CARESustainability is an extension of respect
for the flowers, the environment, and the community we serve.
We consider environmental impact throughout sourcing, design, production, and disposal. We work without traditional floral foam, prioritize reusable or lower-waste mechanics, source locally and seasonally whenever possible, and process flowers carefully so their beauty can be enjoyed for as long as their natural life allows.
Leftover flowers are repurposed, shared, or composted when appropriate. Sustainability is not a single material choice; it is an ongoing practice of using resources attentively and continuing to make better decisions as the studio grows.

Butterfly’s Rest collaborates with Seattle artists, makers, small businesses, wedding professionals, and community organizations through workshops, editorial projects, seasonal offerings, and shared events.
