Our retail collection is intentionally small and continually evolving.
Our goal isn’t to fill shelves. It’s to bring together flowers, objects, people, and ideas in a way that feels considered, personal, and full of character.
We work with makers in several ways depending on the work, the relationship, and what makes sense for both Butterfly’s Rest and the maker.

Wholesale is a purchasing relationship in which Butterfly’s Rest buys an agreed collection of inventory from a maker at an agreed wholesale price.
The maker receives payment for the purchased inventory upfront, while Butterfly’s Rest takes ownership of the merchandise and assumes the financial risk of selling it.
Once purchased, the work becomes part of the broader Butterfly’s Rest retail assortment. We determine how purchased inventory is merchandised, presented, and sold alongside our flowers and other goods.
Wholesale does not include a guaranteed display period, dedicated placement, or promotional support.
It offers a straightforward way for makers to sell inventory directly to Butterfly’s Rest while allowing us the flexibility to curate and evolve the shop over time.

Consignment allows selected makers to place their work within Butterfly’s Rest for an initial three-month term while retaining ownership of unsold inventory.
Rather than Butterfly’s Rest purchasing the collection upfront, the maker is paid as pieces sell according to the agreed consignment structure.
During the agreed term, Butterfly’s Rest commits to meaningful retail representation and provides thoughtful merchandising, customer service, point-of-sale processing, inventory tracking, and sales support.
At the end of the initial term, we review the partnership and may renew it, evolve the assortment, explore another way of working together, or conclude the relationship.
Consignment offers makers a dedicated opportunity to introduce their work to the Butterfly’s Rest community while giving both of us time to understand how the collection lives within the studio.

The Feature is a selective six-month partnership created to give the work and perspective of one creative partner a deeper presence within Butterfly’s Rest.
Each Feature is thoughtfully selected, considering the work itself, craftsmanship, perspective, story, and how it can live within the broader world of Butterfly’s Rest. In return, Butterfly’s Rest makes a greater commitment to the partnership throughout the six-month feature.
The selected partner receives prominent representation within the studio, expanded storytelling, dedicated promotional support, and one complimentary approved workshop or event during their feature.
Because The Feature includes a greater commitment of space, time, creative direction, promotion, and studio resources, it follows its own partnership and commission structure.
The Feature is curated by Butterfly’s Rest and offered selectively. It is not automatically available through Consignment or solely by request. If you’re interested in being considered for a future Feature, we invite you to introduce your work through our Maker Partnerships form.

Exclusive Collaborations allow Butterfly’s Rest and a maker to create something together that does not already exist.
This might take the form of a custom vessel, exclusive colorway, limited edition, seasonal collection, artist edition, floral-related object, or another concept developed specifically for Butterfly’s Rest.
Rather than simply selecting existing inventory, we work together to shape the idea, considering how each partner’s perspective can contribute to the final piece or collection.
The creative process, production responsibilities, financial structure, branding, exclusivity, launch, and sales terms are established individually for each collaboration.
Exclusivity generally applies to the specific product or collection we develop together rather than to the maker’s entire business unless otherwise agreed.
Workshops + EventsA space to gather,
create, and share.
Butterfly’s Rest is not only a place to encounter flowers and beautiful objects. We want the studio to create opportunities for people to gather, learn, make, and connect.
We welcome select artists, makers, educators, and creative businesses interested in sharing their work with the community.
Workshop and event opportunities are separate from our retail partnerships. You do not need to sell your work at Butterfly’s Rest to host an experience with us.

One-Off Workshops + Events are individual creative experiences hosted within the Butterfly’s Rest studio.
They may include a workshop, demonstration, pop-up, artist conversation, Meet the Maker, small creative gathering, or another approved experience.
This option is designed for hosts who want to bring an idea to the studio without committing to an ongoing schedule.
The host generally develops and operates the experience, while Butterfly’s Rest provides the agreed studio space and standard available amenities.

Recurring Workshops + Events are designed for artists, makers, educators, and creative businesses who want to establish a consistent series within Butterfly’s Rest.
Rather than reserving the studio for a single date, we establish an agreed schedule over a defined period. This might be a monthly workshop, seasonal gathering, creative series, recurring class, or another experience that benefits from consistency.
The host generally develops and operates the experience, while Butterfly’s Rest reserves the agreed studio time and space according to the partnership terms.
A recurring arrangement creates a familiar place for hosts to develop their programming, build relationships with returning participants, and become a more consistent part of the creative community surrounding Butterfly’s Rest.

Butterfly’s Rest is a floral design studio first.
The objects, goods, and experiences we bring into the studio are selected to complement a world rooted in flowers, creativity, gifting, gathering, ritual, and everyday beauty.
For most retail categories, we generally work with one primary maker or brand at a time. Rather than carrying several similar collections, we prefer to give each relationship room to breathe and each maker’s work space to stand on its own.
Our assortment evolves with the seasons, our studio, and the relationships we build.
Working with one primary maker within a category does not create geographic or business exclusivity unless separately agreed in writing.
